Rules

The whole thing in one line: every spot goes up for auction every fifteen minutes, and the highest bid takes it.

Win a spot and it is yours until somebody pays more than you did. Nothing else takes it from you. No rent, no expiry, no fee for holding it.

The rounds

Every spot on the board goes up every fifteen minutes, on the clock, all at once. When a round closes, whoever holds the highest bid on a spot wins it. If a spot gets no bids, nothing happens: its holder keeps it and pays nothing.

What a spot opens at

A spot nobody has ever won opens at $5. After that it opens one dollar above whatever it last sold for. Win a spot for $30 at 3:00 and the 3:15 auction on it opens at $31. That is what makes the rule above true: taking a spot always costs more than its holder paid.

The last ten seconds

A bid inside the final ten seconds pushes that spot's clock back ten more seconds. There is no sniping here. If two people want it, the auction keeps running until one of them stops.

Bidding

Winning

When you win, the held amount becomes the payment and the spot is yours. If you took it from somebody else it arrives blank, ready for your own listing. If you were defending a spot you already held, your listing stays exactly as it was.

What the money does

Winning bids go to the house. The previous holder is not paid, because they were not selling: they held a spot for as long as nobody outbid them, which is the thing they paid for in the first place.

Your listing

A title, a link and one line. It goes through review before it appears in public. We reject anything unlawful, deceptive, adult, hateful, malware bearing or impersonating someone. A rejected listing costs you the wording, never the spot.

The two boards

The all time board ranks every spot by what its holder paid, and it stands until someone pays more. The daily board only counts what was won today and clears at midnight UTC, so a good day is winnable no matter what the permanent board looks like.

Accounts and credit

Email and a password, asked twice. Credit is added by card through Stripe and card details never touch this server. Credit does not expire. It stays in your account until you spend it or ask for it back.

Getting money out

Credit you have not spent goes straight back to the card or account you paid with, from your account page, on your own. It is a refund, not a payout: there is nobody to email and nothing to approve. Card refunds normally appear in five to ten days.

Two limits, both from how refunds work. Money committed to a live bid has to win or lose first. And a payment older than about six months can no longer be returned to the original card, so email us about that. See the terms.

One account each

Do not run extra accounts to bid against yourself, inflate a price or manufacture activity. Doing it can cost you the spots involved and any credit that came from it.

Privacy

We store your email, a hash of your password, your balance and what you did on the board. Visitor counts use a hash that changes every day, and no IP address is ever stored. Payments run through Stripe. Nothing is sold or shared.
